Bóthar Na Naomh

Bóthar na Naomh is a brief circular walk situated in the village of Cloone, with marked paths and various route options for hikers to choose from. The trail runs from north to south through the village, granting access to reinstated old paths across deciduous woodland and cutaway bogs.

The landscape is a tranquil, picturesque rural area featuring typical limestone wetland vistas such as riverbanks, damp meadows, woodland, bog, and lakeshores.

The trails available have a combined length of 5.75km and are surfaced with loose gravel. The trail is generally at least 2m wide with a gentle gradient.

Bóthar na Naomh is named after an old route that used to connect the early monastic site in Cloone Village to the nearby burial ground on Caldragh Hill. The northern part of the loop follows this route, while other parts of the loop utilize more recent pathways to the school, church, the village, and/or the bog.

The local community run an adventure race at this location each year.
